@FemaleIsNotAFeeling I remember this one from about 2020/2021. It interested me then as it does now.
This isn't just a photo of something that happened. This is a photoshoot. It took time to set up, design, create. Money changed hands because very few people work for free. Everything about it is both true and untrue which indicates a semantic and semiotic sleight of hand. Criticism can be dismissed by leaning into the *truth* while the lie can ride on its coattails. The element of natural disgust can be thrown in by blathering about *destigmatising* narratives and using shame to silence criticism.
It's very clever. I wonder who's idea it was.
