I'd never buy a MacBook, for what it's worth. I don't need nor want to go into a long, exhaustive essay as to why MacBooks sucks and Apple sucks, etc.---they just suck and I cannot recommend them in any way whatsoever.
I would seriously recommend checking out newer laptops coming out with Lunar Lake CPUs in them from Intel. AfaIk there are a couple from Asus that have been released and Lenovo has a Thinkpad X1 that's coming out with it. They're promising things like 18 hours of battery life.
