    The contrast is all the more stunning when you realize that China was in the latter-end of their Century of Humiliation during that same period. Late #Qing Empire.

    As for #Japan, even getting nuked twice wasn't enough to ruin their culture and civilized values.

    For them, defeat in #WWII was really just an embarrassing footnote for an otherwise beautiful and exceptional country - before, during and after.
