@mekkaokereke I've been to New Orleans many times, and I never understood the weekly second line parades until I got to attend one with a group of the organizers and then it became super clear. It's a weekly expression of pure, unfettered black joy and I bet it's a great way to take a break from the six other days of the week trying to beat you down mercilessly in Louisiana. Even the cops assigned to the event were incredibly chill and hands off and ignored everyone to let everyone celebrate.
