Both times I found it was just getting used to feeling hungry. Something few of us experience today. It took about a week to get used to it and I could just go without eating through the day OK and then have an evening meal.
It's mostly a mental thing. But I did get that preoccupation with food thing at the beginning. It's an interesting experience.
