@j @p @graf Bacitracin might be a safer alternative and it's one of the antibiotics in Neosporin anyway. Cats lick their wounds, so I think your best bet is to try to clean it and cover with something benign, such as petroleum jelly, or possibly shave the area and use a bandage (kitty will hate this 😞).
