The miracle of olive oil, however, is a-historical, as you would expect miracles to be.

The miracle of olive oil is not mentioned in the Book of Maccabees (in the apocrypha, inter-testamental books of the Catholic Bible). Also is never mentioned in the works of Josephus.

It is, however, mentioned in the Talmud, specifically tractate Shabbat 21b. Presumably it was part of the rabbinical oral teaching after Josephus' time, or possibly in his own time and Josephus had never heard of it.
