😀🚲@mirabilos @slothrop there's not going to be a brushless DC motor controller without electronic circuitry and firmware/software switching the voltage to control speed and torque. It's a rather active process of switching the magnetic fields that would be tedious to build in transistors alone vs some microcontroller chips and firmware. Most of what's terrible about software is when you can't see inside or change it.
