@pave_the_earth I appreciate the advice. long-term durability is not something that has come up yet. Ultimately I would like to upgrade them to players with better mechanisms that also have speed control. Basically how I got here was trying to get a decent older player to refurbish but being burned by a tech who didn't know what he was doing, then giving up and picking an option I knew would be solid at least in the medium term. I hope to one day befriend someone who really knows their shit and who I can work with to get a pair of really good older machines.
I borrowed my friends Marantz PMD430 and used it for a little while and was super impressed in the overall quality and features, but it still was a little wobbly compared to my cp13. So definitely not something I would be excited to own without help. But the PMD420, or a Nak500, would be so awesome to have
