"Experts find this concerning"

"Experts" should not be surprised in the slightest, and should have already been very concerned for years now!

Pretty much since the Great Recession an increasing number of people, perhaps approaching a majority of people now, hold the belief "eff it, the whole system is broken, burn it all down" as the decomposition of the current capitalist world order accelerates.

Hence the willingness to do things like, y'know, vote for a convicted criminal to be president or view suspected murderers as heroes.

But also Luigi is very err...visually appealing...and it this is far from the first time a handsome criminal has built up a significant fan base.
