The main theme warns of the danger of turning straight news reporting into programmed entertainment, complete with giggling talking heads posing as news anchors, Sybil the Soothsayer and her sidekicks. Take a look at TV and other news media today-- I rest my case. Or, I should say, Paddy Chayevsky rests his case.
