@tk @biketooter @cycling @mastobikes ok but he's wrong about everything.
The undercurrent is all about money and smashing your bike. Yeah, don't buy a new one. I bought a couple year old one for about new steel prices, but way better. I've ridden it for several years, not decades but is it really that hard to not destroy your frame? I've fallen on my carbon bike a few times. He's way exaggerating their fragility.
Check steel bikes' weights. These come in from 9 to over 12kg:
https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/best-steel-road-bikes which is almost double a lot of carbon ones. You feel that every time you put it on the rack, turn it around, every hill... Weight is for every day people, not just Jonas Vingegaard.
"Ugly" 😂
Guy needs to just admit he has preferences and not go on a tirade demanding everyone else share them.
But he's an online author and got the rage clicks, so good for him I guess.
