I've long claimed authoritarianism is the best system under the custody of a philosopher king, as many smarter men than I such as Plato have claimed millennia before me. The problem is that philosopher kings are rare and their influence is rarely carried forward after their deaths. Tito is such an example of that. Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore is another whose legacy may prove more enduring.
