Christine Lemmer-Webber@harce If ActivityPub is trademarked and is being enforced against people, that trademark could easily be invalidated. I was in the meeting when we came up with the name "ActivityPub" at the W3C. It was an evolution of "ActivityPump", since it was the Pump API + ActivityStreams 2.0, and we decided to align it more with MicroPub by @aaronpk, especially because at the time we thought the two specs might converge. It was @rhiaro who suggested the rename.
