That's the feedback loop. Anything graf has to say about anything, someone with a library of "I hate graf" screenshots has something to say about it. If most of your interactions with people you don't know are like that, then you'll start to get suspicious of people you don't know. When I first started running FSE, I'd wake up and someone had signed up and I'd think that was cool; when the pedos arrived, I started getting nervous when someone arrived, and then punchy.

So you see this thread: it is very short but it is full of screenshots of all of graf's terrible wrongdoings, there was the hack that leaked all the chats. I am friends with a lot of people on fedi that other people hate, but this is the only guy whose name cannot be mentioned without people popping out to post screenshots. graf discussions are about half-way to the level of the Loli Question and they won't stop.

So, given all that, I can understand if the guy sees someone complaining at him and thinks "Oh, shit, here we go again."
