I found out that my girlfriend is intellectually disabled and it's really freaked me out.
We've been dating for about 6 months now and I just found out that she is considered mentally handicapped by the state and tests at a very low IQ. She is prohibited from getting a drivers license. In hindsight I probably shouldn't be surprised, there were signs. I've witnessed her being unable to operate simple technology, being unable to do basic math, not being able to understand a lot of things or asking me very strange questions like "why is the earth round?" or "why can't penguins fly like other birds?"She's a very kind and caring person and I like our relationship. Otherwise she's pretty normal and can take care of herself. I'm not freaked out because I think less of her I'm just afraid of people finding out and making fun of her or saying that I'm taking advantage of her sexually or things like that.
