@futurile Seen from a distance, I think a solution would have been to keep using apt exclusively; the “App Center” could very much have apt as a backend.

In the end, it seems that in the hope of getting a share of the remaining 99% of the market, all they achieved is to alienate a subset of the 1% that actually uses it.

Anyway, who am I to judge commercial distros? :-)
