@mstar @enigmatico I'm pretty sure its a general rule. They even made the Swiss do it, so they have some fucking weird laws there.

like the naturalization requirement is lower for an american passport, because they like us, but actually getting the job is harder.

(the swiss also basically ban you from getting a student visa if you're 30 years old but that's not an EU-wide policy)
