    @TheBreadmonkey Everyone’s suggestions sound fine.

    I’ll just add: don’t worry. Pick a computer that you’re not using for anything important right now, and try out installing Linux.

    These days most of the stuff goes smoothly. If it doesn’t, don’t worry. An install attempt takes maybe 15 minutes from start to finish, so just have another go!
