If you ever do plan a to visit to White Sands consider also: Hot springs in Truth or Consequences, Green chile in Hatch, the space museum in Alamogordo, the lodge and observatory in Cloudcroft, Carlsbad Caverns, alien memorabilia in Roswell / Aliens in Artesia, old west in Lincoln, Carrizoza cider, and of course Trinity (open for 1 day in April and October).
