I've never felt that FS folks were deliberately privileged. Only that the movement is born out of that population who are often forgetful of economic realities
I part quoted because I don't disagree with anything else. I guess I should have stated more clearly that since freedom is dependant on economic viability for most users, it is a core, non-optional part of the business and politics of Free Software
I particularly keenly agree with keeping space for people who are hobbiests
