@thomasfuchs my grandfather was a Wehrmacht soldier who spent a couple of years after the war in a POW camp and while he was never an overt Nazi while I knew him, he carried enough veiled racism with him for the remaining 50 years of his life that even as a young teen I noticed it
It gives antifascism a very weird personal dynamic and it's profoundly unsettling that so many Germans seem to have forgotten how widespread these very close and personal connections to the Nazis still are.
