If you are paying for sex with a woman, there is no way you can *really* know if she has been coerced. Since you can't truely know, you thus are raping her. Kind of an Schrodinger's Rapist ( if only it were Occams Rapist , that would have be perfect )
But the point MS is making is that you as the man paying the woman for sex are doing the consent thing - you are passing the responsibility - "she says she wants to do this, so I will take her at her word" - and this consent based framework doesn't sit well with these women. And the women have a point - these kinds of issues were why prostitution was illegalized in the past.
