The galaxy to the left has a bright white core surrounded by very fuzzy gas and dust. The matter becomes more diffuse farther away from its center. The galaxy on the right has brown, dusty filaments around a fuzzy white core. This core is surrounded by a roughly ring-shaped area of of light blue stars. The ring is flat on the top and sides, and irregular at the bottom, roughly forming a triangle. There are red pockets of gas and young blue star clusters dotted around the ring. Several positions on this ring have dotted pockets of red.
