That's a known quantity. They're willing to use the enemy's weapon and the enemy's weapon is anathema. The point isn't that they are hypocrites though. The point is that the situation has reached the point where people feel too existentially threatened by the enemy's weapon to care about principles. That is the mentality that war forces on people and it should turn all of our stomachs to realize that we're in a war that has no uniforms, no formal "sides", and no rules of engagement.
