There are reasons for him to step back for age reasons. Is his age a problem because his world-view is aged, as well? That shouldn't be a surprise. I think most 70+ year old stick to outdated ideas. Can I respect them for what they did? Sure! Times change, they change through people like RMS, but change continues.
