@darnell @manton There is a required wall between Automattic the registrar (e.g. where you buy a domain from) and Automattic the registry (who runs .blog) per ICANN rules.
The folks that run the registry have their own p2 network, Slack (IIRC), etc.
ICANN, rightfully so, puts in a lot of protections for a TLD available to the public.
