- Embed this notice@thegreatape @vriska the frontend isn't such a big deal if the dev decides to go awol, but the backend being abandoned is devastating for an instance. As I remember it, Alex wanted to merge some stuff into pleroma-be for some soapbox-exclusive feature, but the devs gave him pushback. So he forked pleroma-be and called it rebased, then tried to get all soapbox instances to use it.
If Alex wanted to abandon his fork and offer a database migration path back to stock pleroma-be, there wouldn't be much of a problem. But he ghosted everyone to play with nostr for months on end, so that's where the anger came from
