when we were younger I was able to make my little sister cry just by telling sad stories about inanimate objects. Usually went like this:

"the cracked teacup sat on the store shelf for years and years, because no one wanted to buy it..."

I think 'The Brave Little Toaster' had a huge impact on her sensitivity.
