@geartoward fwiw conservative idealogues are effectively driven by a perpetual fear that their way of life is going to be forcibly taken from them, so the more people forcibly take from them (as opposed to gently demonstrating that XYZ is not something that needs to be feared) the more they will lock ranks and everybody loses.
