Shit on the sidewalk or treewells = dog shit.
Shit between parked cars, in entranceways or against a building = person shit

The latter is easier for me to clean up. It's usually my building and I can hose it into a drain. Can't hose out the treewells, and I don't have a place to deposit scooped up shit except the trash can inside my place (which stinks up everything inside).

I really wish the city kept the public toilet down the street open 24 hours, but it closes at 5 pm.
