@cmdr_nova I don’t mind if they put ads on their client, but #ActivityPub needs to be completely protected against putting pro-business needs before users.

It does look & feel a lot like corporate takeovers of protocol through ”open” federations.

Set up something that looks like a nonprofit, feed your employees there as ”experts” and then steer the protocol towards serving you instead. Google has done it on the web very successfully.
