    @cdevroe there are some reasons:

    1. I have not yet had the time to update the GitHub runner, that releases the code on WordPress.org
    2. It is possible to install the script through composer, so it should include all code that is needed to run it without an extra build
    3. It is easier to run/test the latest version if you do not have to run npm stuff
