I mean, imagine if Capcom saw what SNK did with Art of Fighting and decided to patent "up is jump" and "qcf+punch is a fireball" after the fact and sued SNK to shake them down or put them out of business. Instead we had 8 years of them shit-talking each other with design choices followed by a handshake and some collabs. We'd be out a lot of Neo-Geo games if they did what Nintendo's doing and a lot of other fighters wouldn't exist.
