Then I read about it and the only reason they had one woman astronaut is they heard the USA was getting one so they rushed to get one before the USA. Then they didn’t get another one for decades because it was just propaganda. she ended up being a great astronaut though so the only explanation for why they didn’t get more of them is…sexism.
