@sun @mozilla Mastodon is more expensive to operate than Pleroma. In addition, their profile requires administrative attention to defend against attacks. So I can see them easily dumping $200..400 a month. It's still nothing when compared to Mitchell Baker's compensation package (who's still on the board while Laura Chambers is struggling with the impossible task of saving this shitshow). But it's not insignificant for individuals, I would think.
