you can have a barcode do an inventory split but only a basic one. so scan the box and tell it to stock 6 bottles of tea.
you can choose whether to auto-fill and wait for you to confirm, or auto-fill and confirm if all the fields have defaults, so if you are not bothered by the exact expiration dates you can just say "cocoa powder is twelve months from now generally" and it will happily blip as fast as the reader sends. works for checking goods out too, you can barcode scan in consume.
there's a "grocycode" thing where it will turn the database id in to a qr code for you, so you can print a sheet of barcodes for goods that don't have them (like farmers market goods) and just blip a fridge magnet too.
