I definitely see why it could be problematic. EU tends to "not fuck around" when it comes to GDPR and making sure data deletion requests are adhered to.

Threads is legally obligated to ensure the deletion of data that's requested for deletion and they can't possibly ensure that with Fediverse platforms like Pleroma having MRF policies to deny delete requests...😬🤦♂️
