Charlie Stross@jfrench The unadmitted problem with the arms embargo is that it hurts British export companies (like BAe) because they can't sell to a customer with deep pockets. So it may be ethically necessary but it's expensive and the govt is in the middle of a horrific revenue shortfall.
Which will win: doing the right thing, or not raising personal taxes to cover the expected losses in corporation tax?
