But to understand how you would end up there you have to think about the path that the country would have to take to get there. Most people don't do this, because it's complex.

A major component I feel most people don't factor in enough is how much people *really* believe they belong in a place. If people can say "fuck it, I'm going back to X" they will do that well before things get insane.
