@doctorsex @tadano @SuperSnekFriend @branman65 I do actually get what you're saying, because I was brought up being told "Catholics aren't Christians and they're just like the Pharisees" etc. I have a good spiritual father who I've been able to ask questions on specific topics and get adequate explanations. Short answer is that a lot of "X is blasphemous" stuff comes from either gross misunderstanding, linguistic failings (look at how many words for love or the various things that get categorized as 'worship' in English vs Greek, Latin, etc), or bad practice from malformation (poorly formed Catholic adopting cult esque practices e.g. Santa Muerte). There are far fewer issues than what people think, and I don't see much of anything that a reasonable person can't accept as heterodox. Opinions will vary on that of course.
