I hated remote teaching the one year I did it, at the start of the pandemic. It was miserable for me, miserable for the students. I mean, we all pulled together and made something good out of it — but never again, not if I can help it. Poisons all the best stuff about school: the community, the meaningful personal connections, the sense that you’re not learning and living life all alone.
