Was I the asshole here? I'm leaning towards not, but I also feel like my own ANNOYANCE could be making me blind to being rude without meaning to.
For context, I've been trying to sign up for this class for weeks now, and it's just issue after issue.
After getting the Dean involved, I've gotten most of it sorted, but the professor of the class hasn't responded to me in three days, with these being our last email correspondence?
Is he ghosting me!!!

Most instructors are just out of their minds with juggling things at the start of the semester. There’s a good chance he’s so far underwater he’s unable to communicate properly (which he clearly is not doing).
Further emails are actively unhelpful. If just showing up to class is an option, I’d do that.

This is the last thing I sent, followed by maybe three more emails with my information in order for him to add me to the class (PER THE DEAN'S REQUEST), and he still hasn't answered or added me.

Oh wow, that’s dire. What a bunch of BS.
It’s kind of nuclear option, but…if you’re in communication with the dean already, maybe see if they can contact his chair.

@inthehands Yeah, that's my preference as well, but this is a purely virtual class and this professor doesn't come to campus at all.
Had coming to his office been an option, I would have gone there on day one.

I don't really like virtual classes to begin with, but that's the only option for this one.
Being a purely remote instruction class sucks for a lot of reasons, but this relying on emails for basic communication is pretty high up on that list.

I hated remote teaching the one year I did it, at the start of the pandemic. It was miserable for me, miserable for the students. I mean, we all pulled together and made something good out of it — but never again, not if I can help it. Poisons all the best stuff about school: the community, the meaningful personal connections, the sense that you’re not learning and living life all alone.

@inthehands Well, now I want to know about the other side of it. Do you like teaching virtually?
I think I learn best in a classroom, but if there's still some face-to-face interaction within my online classes (like weekly Zoom sessions) I feel better. That's how my AutoCADD class was taught and I really liked it since I still got to talk to my professor and classmates in our Zoom meetings.
When it's all asynchronous, I'm pretty checked out, personally.
