That's actually incorrect.
Politicians and big corporations are in favor of a Chinese takeover, pretty much everyone else, especially those who have to live with Chinese neighbors or in neighborhoods that has lots of Chinese residents, are very much against it.
CHAINA!!, North Korea, and South Korea have always been viewed upon as very unfavorable.
