Only so much I can go into as the entire thing is still ongoing, but tl;dr my dad married his therapist a few years ago and she was very obviously using him for a free house and free cars and etc.

She made it a point not to respect his wishes in regards to his service, and went on a shopping spree with the funeral benefit money instead.

She's also denied my sister and I access to the home to retrieve sentimental things with no cash value.

She steadfastly refused to open probate because she wanted to keep accounts open to spend money out of instead. I applied to be executor of the estate but she had first crack at it. There was a hearing to decide who should be executor and she brought a high powered attorney when I wasn't even sure she was going to show up.
