bartholin@kaia iirc Dune was (wrongly) criticized by some feminist because the Bene Gesserit were described as evil witches. It’s just that they are strong indpendent women, which makes men scared of them.
Anyway, at least Dune is a well-written book, unlike Lord of the Rings.
