I don’t fully agree with Charlie Jane Anders’ perspective on community building — I’ve learned the hard way that inclusion almost always means exclusion and you have to make hard choices about who you open your doors to, so her talking about inclusion as a universal and essential good didn’t sit right.

But I really loved this bit: communities are built out of moments, not structures! You don’t need to make every moment live forever.
