CitizenFortress@BeAware people base their entire identities on the sameness of the day. change is quite literally shocking. we see it all the time in small things, but big things have a much bigger impact. plus the person being abused may feel overly controlled by the abuser, so much so that they would feel threatened by leaving. experience: my mom's relationship with her BF that wound up putting her in prison.
