The experience is severly degraded if you aren't completely bought in. But the integration bewteen different devices within the ecosystem is beyond what you'll find anywhere else.

Honestly though, if samsung hadn't been being such ass lately I would suggest a Note just for the big screen and pen. Really nice to have a precision tool for taking notes or abusing your phablet of a phone to do things you really should on a computer.
