I can't stop being amazed...
It's not as if servers with allowlists instead of blocklists have been around for a longer time now. Thats neither new and its totally valid, altho most of those are a small group of friends which were in fedi before and i doupt that the average person want to disconnect themself from a bigger reach, otherwise they could just use Software / Protocols which are designed like this, for example XMPP / Matrix or any Group Chat Protocol. I see in this blog post a regression of the idea of the Fediverse, but it can be a valid decision and will certainly not stand in the way of it
